Dubai’s Most Photogenic Spots

The top places in our city for stunning photo opportunities

With avant-garde architecture, white sandy beaches and desert sunsets, no city is quite as camera-ready as Dubai. It pays to know just where to shoot some of the city’s globally recognized icons, including the Burj Khalifa, Palm Jumeirah and Burj Al Arab, with unobstructed views.

The Observatory Super Yacht Dubai

The Observatory:

Unless you charter a helicopter or jump out of a plane with Skydive Dubai, you won’t find a better view of Palm Jumeirah than at the lofty lounge in Dubai Marina. Perched on the 52nd floor of the Dubai Marriott Harbour Hotel & Suites, the floor-to-ceiling windows afford views of the man-made island and Atlantis, The Palm. Arrive before sunset and grab a spot right next to the window for the perfect shot as the sky changes.

Armani Hashi

Park yourself at the foot of the Burj Khalifa for an unrivalled visual experience. At the Japanese restaurant Armani/Hashi, views in all directions are spectacular, with the Dubai Fountain and Souk Al Bahar both commanding attention. Don’t forget to look up!

360° Dubai

As the name suggests, the circular open-air lounge stuns with its 360-degree views overlooking the Arabian Gulf, the Burj Al Arab and Jumeirah Beach Hotel. Gaze up as dusk approaches and the famous landmarks are illuminated in a riot of colors, reflected dramatically on the water—it’s a great spot to try out some of those panorama shots.

Skyview Bar

Skyview Bar

The next best thing to staring directly at the Burj Al Arab is being inside it. Pay a visit to Skyview Bar for a view of Dubai’s coastline from the 27th floor. We recommend visiting during the day and booking the afternoon tea for the best photo opportunities of the aqua water and white sands.

Sunset in the desert

Sunset in the desert

As if dune bashing isn’t great fun already, snap some incredible sunset selfies when you sign up for an exhilarating desert safari. The red sand makes for a striking backdrop while that silhouette shot under a canopy of stars as you stand atop a sand dune could be your favorite photo of the trip. See the beauty of the desert, and take plenty of time to get that perfect group jump shot.

If you’re a fan of Thai food, take a seat at Thiptara for more than just award-winning cuisine. The name translates to ‘magic near the water,’ and with views of the dancing fountain show at the base of the tallest tower in the world, this restaurant more than lives up to its name.
