Private Dinner for Two in Dubai

Table for two? These exclusive destinations will cater for that special celebration

Couples looking for an intimate private dining experience will be spoilt for choice in Dubai. Catered by some of Dubai’s finest chefs, these restaurants are elegant, ambient and incredibly lavish.

Tucked away in the lower levels of the Financial District restaurant, BOCA, is the Cellar, where a personal maître d’ can suggest options from the menu of well-executed Mediterranean classics, or the more experimental deli specials board. Those feeling adventurous can opt for the Cellar Experience, a gourmet exploration of five different regions, including their signature black rice with scallops and clams. BOCA’s chef is happy to collaborate on an exclusive menu.

Dining by Design

When is a dining room not a dining room? When it’s a foodie concept like Anantara’s private catering, which gives diners a choice of intimate locations. By candlelight, the secluded beachfront is a romantic option for honeymooners, while a table on the end of a private jetty, backlit by the Arabian Gulf’s famous orange and magenta sunsets, is a beautiful backdrop for proposals. Given 72 hours’ notice, your personal butler can arrange a hand-selected menu from the resort’s Thai, Australian or international restaurants – or a mix of all three.

Sky Table

One of Dubai’s better kept secrets is Sky Table on the Sofitel’s 30th floor. The extremely intimate dining room seats just three couples (there’s the option to book the entire area). Each seat faces the table-to-ceiling windows, offering an uninterrupted view of the illuminated Burj Khalifa and dancing Dubai Fountains. The menu matches up to the view, with a dedicated chef preparing classic French dishes from the Inka kitchens.

Marina Social

Take in sweeping views of the Dubai Marina’s fairy light-festooned parade of huge and even-huger yachts from a prime perch at Michelin-starred chef Jason Atherton’s pet project, Marina Social. Secluded from the main restaurant, the private dining room has both beautiful views across the water and an inventive fine dining menu disguised as casual, shareable eats. The burrata concealed inside a ripe tomato or any of the clever drinks are a good place to start. Or, put your faith in the kitchen and its “Feed Me” menu, which serves up four, six or eight courses of whatever the chef fancies that night.

One of Dubai’s best French restaurants is also home to Cave Privee, the private dining alcove perfect for a romantic dinner for two. Diners can enjoy traditional Gaelic favourites (escargots, duck l’orange), and fresh speciality seafood including an impressive selection of oysters. Those who want to be part of the action can also take their seat at the Chef’s Table in the very centre of the high-paced kitchen, and watch their giant scallops being seared before winding up the night with a St Honoré cake to share.
